Music Minor: Music Perfomance

Students from any college may complete a minor in Music, selecting either an emphasis in performance. Such a minor consists of at least 18 hours of course work in music. In the performance emphasis, eight hours of performance instruction, four hours of appropriate ensemble, and six hours of music history or theory are required. A successful audition is required for private performance study in the designated area (level of performance expectation is that of entering freshman music major). The course requirements are as follows:

- Performance instruction (8 hours) - four semesters, sequential enrollment in MUP courses at appropriate level; 2 hours per semester.
- All music minors must participate in large conductor led ensembles directly related to their primary instrument for four semesters, as determined by ensemble conductors in consultation with studio faculty. Four semesters. Credit(s): 4
