NUR 328 - Research for Evidence Based Nursing Practice for the ABSN Track [3 Credit Hours]
This course, designed for the Accelerated BSN track, introduces students to essential research methodologies for evidence-based nursing care. Students will gain foundational knowledge in both quantitative and qualitative nursing research, with a focus on the history, philosophical bases, and relevance of these approaches. Legal and ethical issues in nursing research will be examined, and students will apply ethical principles to historical studies. Throughout the course, students will develop the skills necessary to appraise literature, grade the strength of recommendations, and apply research findings to clinical and public health practice. They will identify relevant practice issues, conduct focused searches for best evidence, and effectively communicate their findings. Up-to-date electronic resources will be utilized to support evidence-based nursing practice. This course fulfills the Graduation Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR) and is not eligible for automatic transfer credit to the University of Kentucky. The GCCR requirement is completed through three courses: NUR 321, NUR 328, and NUR 426.
Prereq: Primary Degree/Primary major: NURO-BSN. NUR 321, NUR 323, NUR 324, NUR 325, NUR 330, and NUR 333, with a C or higher in each. STA 210, STA 296, or BST 230, with a C or higher. Co-req: NUR 331.
