NUR 321 - Introduction to Health Promotion for ABSN Students [3 Credit Hours]
This course introduces the accelerated baccalaureate student to the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention as they are applied to diverse populations in a variety of settings. This course will enable students to provide beginning professional nursing care to individuals and families. This course introduces accelerated baccalaureate nursing students to health promotion and disease prevention across diverse populations. Emphasizing evidence-based practice, students will assess strengths and resources to optimize wellness and address health disparities. Students will develop clinical reasoning skills to support professional nursing care and decision-making utilizing therapeutic communication, patient education, and evidence-based interventions. The course also strengthens written communication skills, enabling students to articulate scholarly findings and professional content. This is a required course in the undergraduate nursing curriculum and fulfills part of the Graduate Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR).
Prereq: Primary Degree/Primary major: NURO-BSN.
