Our program of study emphasizes the intersection of practice and theory and is geared toward students who are interested in theatre and dance as part of a liberal arts education. Students create a program that is unique to their interests and strengths, with freedom to choose between a wide variety of electives to complete a truly individualized course of study. Theatre courses emphasize the collaborative nature of the art form, which encompasses performance, literature, design, history, artistic community, and intellectual rigor. Dance courses enhance critical thinking and analytical skills, cooperation and teamwork, self-expression and self-esteem, organization and problem solving, and cultural literacy. They also provide integral skills for theatre and opera students who want to market themselves as versatile performers.
