Introduces engineering interventions to mitigate adverse impacts on public (environmental) health. Demonstrates the importance of contextualized knowledge from varied information sources to foster informed decisions amidst scientific uncertainty. Students will solve open ended design problems using basic science, mathematics, and engineering concepts. Additionally, students will strengthen their ability to identify and engage with key stakeholders and decision makers.
Prereq: Engineering standing, senior; or graduate standing in a science or engineering discipline or consent of instructor.
