A lecture and problem course dealing with advanced topics in atomic physics, including atomic structure, spectra, and interactions of atoms with charged particles and electromagnetic fields. Topics include Rydberg atoms, ionization processes, electron correlations, laser techniques and general theoretical methods.

Prereq: PHY 554, 611 and 614.
