CSD 745 - PEDIATRIC FEEDING

This two credit-hour course is designed to provide a strong foundation in the normal development, assessment and intervention of pediatric feeding. Emphasis is placed on the effects of neuromotor disorders, brain injury, oral-sensory disorders, developmental delay and prematurity on oral feeding and speech. Psychological aspects of feeding as well as cultural influences on feeding and development will be discussed. Information on diversity issues as they affect care-giving, feeding and treatment will be included.

Prereq: CSD 571  or permission of the instructor.
