Successful completion of the certificate in Clinical Healthcare Management will demonstrate that the graduate is prepared to function successfully in a clinical leadership and management role in a health care institution. The program is useful for any currently enrolled UK student (except Clinical Leadership & Management majors) interested in obtaining clinical management skills; in addition, the program is useful for practicing clinical professionals (non-degree-seeking) such as nurses, physicians, dentists, physician assistants, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other interested in enhancing their management skills.
Admission
Students will complete the required application form, available at www.uky.edu/chs/clinicalhealthcare-management-certificate-application. Additionally, applicants will write a two paragraph response to the questions: “Why do you want to add the Clinical Healthcare Management certificate? How will it compliment your current major?” A holistic review process is employed to determine fit for the certificate. Students need to articulate how the certificate can enhance their education to gain admission. Students who are Clinical Leadership & Management majors may not enroll in the certificate due to duplication of content.
