Minor Requirements

The minor in Computer Science requires a minimum of 19-20 hours of course work in CS, to include:

• CS 115 - INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING Credit(s): 3

• OR

• EGR 102 - FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGINEERING COMPUTING Credit(s): 2

• CS 215 - INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAM DESIGN, ABSTRACTION, AND PROBLEM SOLVING Credit(s): 4
• CS 218 - ADVANCED PROGRAMMING AND OPERATING SYSTEM INTERFACES Credit(s): 3
• CS 275 - DISCRETE MATHEMATICS Credit(s): 4
• CS 315 - ALGORITHM DESIGN AND ANALYSIS Credit(s): 3

• or equivalent, plus 3 additional hours of either 300-level (or higher) courses in computer science or CS 270 . A GPA of at least 2.5 across these courses is required. At least 10 of the credit hours required to complete the minor must be earned at the University of Kentucky.
