SW 860 - PROGRAM EVALUATION METHODS IN SOCIAL WORK

College of Social Work

Credits: 3

Evaluating social work practice is a professional imperative based on the NASW Code of Ethics and the profession’s core values. Given that social workers do research in the ‘real world’ rather than in a lab, this class addresses the advantages and challenges of conducting research in social work settings (e.g., data collection, use of existing data, etc.). This course introduces the fundamental concepts, language, design and implementation of program evaluation for social workers and use of data and methods used to inform decisions and implement evidence- based techniques to improve the well-being of clients.

Approved for Distance Learning.
