OTH 856 - ELECTIVE: PRIMARY CARE ORTHOPAEDICS College of Medicine
Credits: 4
Students will spend time in sports medicine orthopedic clinic, two-and- a-half days a week, observing in the operating room a half day a week and half day a week working with physical therapists in the clinical setting or athletic trainers at the high school. Each student will have the opportunity to evaluate and treat patients under the supervision of the attending physician. Students will attend and participate in didactic interactive sessions at weekly sports medicine conferences and on campus at orthopedic conferences one afternoon per week.
Prerequisite(s): Prereq: Promotion to the Advanced Development Phase of M.D. curriculum. Repeatable up to 8 credit hours.
