AER 640 - ADVANCED MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES

College of Engineering

Credits: 3

This course will survey a broad collection of advance optical measurement techniques with particular focus on measurements of flow fields (velocimetry), temperature, and species concentrations. The course material is relevant to measurements in thermal/fluids systems including analysis of thermal transport and chemical reactions. Geometric optical system design will be covered in detail as will issues associated with data analysis of optical system measurements. Specific topics will include resonant spectroscopic techniques, non-resonant scattering techniques and quantitative imaging.

Prerequisite(s):
Prereq: AER 620  or instructor consent.
