HHS 450 - INTRODUCTION TO DENTISTRY College of Health Sciences

This course is an introduction to the profession of dentistry and provides a brief overview of some pre-clinical dental courses that are taught in the first two years of dental school. The student will become familiar with basic dental terminology, current issues in dentistry, and the latest techniques and technology used in clinical settings. The student will have the opportunity to develop manual dexterity and learn basic clinical etiquette and safety procedures. This course serves as a foundation for students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry or for those who want to enhance their knowledge of oral health prior to entering any health field.
Prereq: Admission to HHS Program or consent of instructor. Two semestre of Biology with Lab and Human Anatomy recommended, but not required.
