NUR 641 - Best Practices in Clinical Teaching: Teaching Nursing Practicums

[3 Credit Hours]

This course consists of 180 hours of practicum experience focused on clinical teaching and supervision in undergraduate and graduate courses. a preceptor-mentorship model will be used in which nurse educators in health care organizations or educational institutions will facilitate student learning experiences in this practicum course. Under the guidance of a nurse faculty preceptor, the student will apply principles learned in the Best Practices in Nursing Education/Instruction didactic courses in the classroom, clinical and online educational setting. Online class discussions will provide an opportunity for further exploration of best teaching practices for classroom, clinical practice, self-evaluation and nursing student evaluation.

Prereq: Admission to Certificate in Teaching Nursing, NUR 640 and NUR 642.
