SW724 - ADVANCED PRACTICE WITH INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES: ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT PLANNING

This course is designed to prepare the social worker to conduct culturally sensitive structured, semi-structured and observational clinical assessments of adults, children, families and groups. Special attention will be paid to diagnostic assessments, substance use evaluations, lethality assessments, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based and evidence-informed approaches. Students will learn to develop and implement treatment plans as they relate to the assessment. They will also learn the importance of flexibility in the treatment process.

Prerequisite(s):
Prereq: Completion of foundation courses or Advanced Standing; SW 722 or concurrent.
