Studio Art Minor

Students from any college may choose to minor in Studio Art (see below for exceptions). They may choose between a broad-based studio arts practice or a more focused concentration in a specific medium such as ceramics, digital media, drawing, fiber, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or video.
To earn a minor in Studio Art, students must complete the following:

One course chosen from the list below:
Art History Course
- One course in Art History Credit(s): 3
plus
At least 12 hours in studio at the 200 level or above (with a minimum of 9 hours at or above the 300 level)
Subtotal: Minor Hours: 18
Notes
Only 3 hours from courses taken to fulfill a requirement in another major or minor can be used to meet the requirements of the minor in Studio Art. Students must take at least 9 hours of classes at the 200 level or above from the UK Studio Art program.
Students should note that some course options in the minor have prerequisites, which must be completed before taking the higher-level course. Some prerequisite courses may not count toward the minor.
NOTE: This minor is not available to students pursuing a degree in Art Studio or Digital Media Design.
