Degree Requirements
The College of Social Work requires students to earn a minimum of 120 hours for the B.A. in Social Work with a minimum grade-point average of 2.5. In addition, students must earn a grade of C or better in all professional social work core classes. Students may take additional hours in accordance with stated University policy.
In addition to fulfilling UK Core requirements, students must complete the program requirements listed below.

Graduation Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR)

Premajor Social Work Courses
*Students who take SW 124 and SW 222 would not take SW 322 ; students who take SW 322 do so in lieu of SW 124 and SW 222 to meet this premajor requirement.

Professional Social Work Major Courses
NOTE: Students must earn a grade of C or better in all Major Requirements courses.

Social Science Electives
Students will select 12 hours of social science electives at the 300-level or above. Subtotal: Social Science Electives: 12
Guided Elective
Social Work majors are required to take one guided elective to fulfill a requirement in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Choose one of the following to meet this requirement:
