GER 315 - GERMAN PLACES & SPACES: (SUBTITLE REQUIRED) College of Arts and Sciences

This course explores the many places and spaces that make up Germany/Austria/Switzerland. It will focus on cities, landscapes and locations that are central to German-language cultures and German- language identities. Examples topics include German cities; Berlin; Forests and Mountains; and Discos, Bars and Oktoberfest. Students will develop their communication and literacy skills through structured use of the German language. Course targets the Intermediate-Mid to Advanced- low range on the ACTFL proficiency scale or the B1 to B2 levels on the CEFR. Genres include travelogues, descriptions and self-reflections. May be repeated up to 3x under a different subtitle.
Prereq: GER 202 or equivalent. Instructor consent. Repeatable up to 9 credit hours.
