NUR 321 - INTRODUCTION TO HEALTH PROMOTION FOR ABSN STUDENTS

This course introduces the accelerated baccalaureate student to the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention as they are applied to diverse populations in a variety of settings. This course will enable students to provide beginning professional nursing care to individuals and families. Emphasis will be placed on the key concepts of therapeutic communication, teaching-learning principles, and implementation of evidence-based interventions. Students will begin to develop clinical judgment skills including cue recognition useful to the nurse in promoting health in individuals and families. In addition, this course will enable nursing students to develop skills for student success. This is a required course in the undergraduate nursing curriculum and fulfills part of the Graduate Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR).

Prereq: Primary Degree/Primary major: NURO-BSN.
